Dzolokpuita-Akome Bridge Reconstruction Progresses, Bringing Relief to Residents

The reconstruction of the Dzolokpuita-Akome Bridge in the Ho West Municipality of the Volta Region is progressing steadily, bringing relief and renewed hope to residents.

The bridge serves as a vital link between Dzolokpuita, Akome and surrounding communities. However, its deteriorating condition has disrupted transportation and economic activities over the years.

Work is currently ongoing, with engineers and technical personnel at the site working to ensure the project is completed on schedule.

The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has commended the engineers and technical team of the Ghana Highways Authority’s Bridge Maintenance Department for their dedication.

Mr Bedzrah described the reconstruction as a major relief for residents who have struggled to use the deteriorated bridge.

He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the development needs of his constituents and ensuring that their concerns translate into meaningful action.

According to the MP, the bridge is essential for improving access to markets, schools, health facilities and other important services in the area.

Residents of the affected communities have expressed optimism about the project, saying its completion will ease transportation challenges and improve movement.

They also believe the reconstructed bridge will strengthen connectivity and support economic activities across the Ho West Municipality.

When completed, the project is expected to improve road safety, facilitate trade and contribute to the overall development of the municipality.
