Ho West communities benefit from 2026 big push rural electrification

Eight communities in the Ho West Constituency are benefiting from rural electrification projects under the government’s 2026 Big Push Projects.

The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, said the project forms part of efforts to extend reliable electricity to underserved communities and promote socio-economic development.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Bedzrah said work officially began on September 1, 2026, following sustained engagement and advocacy to secure the projects for the beneficiary communities.

The communities include Tsiamikorfe/Bedzrakorfe at Tsito; Sekekorfe/Abalakpe at Anyirawase; Mawudekako/Sonume, Agoryikpoe, Mawoekpor, Dzanyodake/Gatogo/Amave/Tomey and Andokorfe/Agbadzi in Abutia; and Adorfe in Kpoeta.

Mr Bedzrah said extending electricity to the communities would improve living conditions and create an enabling environment for economic activities and community development.

He noted that reliable electricity is an important driver of development, supporting education, businesses, healthcare and other essential services.

The MP said he remained committed to working with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure the project progressed as planned and delivered its intended benefits.

He added that the electrification programme forms part of a broader objective to connect communities across the Ho West Constituency to the national grid and improve the quality of life of residents.
