Avenor Tutudoza Festival 2026 Launched with Call for Peace and Unity

The seventh edition of the Avenor Tutudoza Festival has been launched at Avega-Agornu in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region, with traditional leaders calling for peace, unity and collective action to drive development in the Avenor Traditional Area.

The launch was held under the theme “Peace, Unity and Security: Foundation for the Sustainable Development of Avenor” and brought together chiefs, political leaders, residents, security agencies, development partners and other stakeholders.

Paramount Chief of Avenor, Torgbui Dorglo Anumah VI, urged sons and daughters of Avenor to embrace peace, hard work and determination to accelerate development in the traditional area.

He stressed that sustainable development could only thrive in communities that remained united, peaceful and secure.

The Paramount Chief also urged the people to embrace innovation, particularly in agriculture, while prioritising the empowerment and development of the youth.

Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr Clarkson Thomas Adade, described Tutudoza as more than an annual festival, saying it celebrates the history, traditions and values of Avenor while providing opportunities to promote tourism, culture, business and investment.

A number of activities have been lined up ahead of the festival’s grand climax in November, including the Datsutagba pilgrimage, Children’s Durbar, Mama Nutifafa Avenor Beauty Pageant, health walk, youth programmes, musical concert, clean-up exercises and a thanksgiving service.

The celebration will climax with a grand durbar in November, expected to bring together traditional rulers, government officials, business leaders, development partners, natives and friends of Avenor.

Residents who spoke to the GNA welcomed the launch, saying it had strengthened the sense of unity and shared identity among the people and expressed hope that the spirit of togetherness would continue beyond the festival.
