Eric Agbana Hands Over Three Completed School Projects

The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, together with the Municipal Chief Executive, has handed over three completed school infrastructure projects to communities in the constituency.

The projects include a 2-unit kindergarten (KG) block with a storeroom, office, kitchen and auxiliary facilities at Dzodze Fiagbedu, as well as 6-unit classroom blocks at Ehi and Law Memorial E.P. Basic School in Tadzewu.

According to Mr Agbana, the Ehi classroom project was originally awarded under the Coastal Development Authority (CoDA) in 2024, but remained unfunded. It was subsequently completed through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) Legacy Projects allocation.

Focus must go beyond infrastructure

In a post on his Facebook page, the MP said the provision of school buildings alone would not guarantee improved educational outcomes.

He stressed that the ultimate measure of the investment should be better teaching, effective learning and improved academic results.

Mr Agbana also expressed concern about the poor performance of students in the municipality in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He therefore called on parents to take greater responsibility for their children’s education by monitoring their school attendance, discipline, homework and academic progress.

The MP said the combined efforts of government, teachers, parents and the wider community would be necessary to translate improved infrastructure into better educational outcomes.
